Peas and Harmony began with two moms that wanted to support organic growing at homes, in schools and community gardens throughout the Sacramento area. Providing supplies and services that make growing food easy and exciting is our way of demonstrating our commitment to people, the food they eat and how it is grown.

Alison Harris is a registered nurse who specialized in pediatric oncology and research before starting Peas and Harmony.  She has been teaching adults and children for over two decades.  Alison would love to see every home and school have an organic garden full of colorful, in-season produce that children and their grownups could learn to grow and cook together to nourish their health and the health of the planet.

Years of work with teachers and youth as an inquiry science educator and an education in ecology and permaculture led Julie Steele down the garden path to designing learning landscapes and garden-based activities to engage the mind and body while bringing beauty to school spaces.  She hopes to be a part of a network of growers that share an appreciation for sustainable agriculture.
